windows8Hey folks, today I am going to talk about an easy way to reduce the booting time for windows 8. Sure there are many factors which makes windows 8 boot faster. But today I am going to tell show you how you can do that by adding any extra hardware or spending money on that.

1. First thing you can do is to set the “First Boot device priority” to “Hard disk“. Boot files are some of the files which windows reads at the starting of the computer. You can boot Windows from Hard disk, CD/DVD drive, pen drive etc. But if you choose the Booting device priority to “Hard disk” where you have already installed Windows 8 then the computer doesn’t waste its time looking for boot files in another location. Now how you can change the Boot device priority depends on the computer system. You have to enter inside the BIOS setup by pressing “Del“, “F12” etc according to the different manufacturer of the motherboard. You can see the button while computer starts.

2. The most important part of this topic is this. You can reduce the number of programs which starts up along with the windows. You can do this in the following ways.

You can delete the programs which runs at the start up by editing the registry.

  • Press “Windows button + R” and type “regedit” in the box and press “Enter“. You will be asked whether you want to make changes to the computer. Press “yes”. Now go to “HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun” and you will see the list of programs which runs at the startup. Delete which you don’t want.

You can also disable the startup program by using  task manager.

  • Press “Alt + Ctrl + Del” together. Now you will get a blue screen where you will see different options like lock screen, change password etc and Task manager. Click on “Task manager“. Now you will get the following screen.

Now you can see the list of the programs which runs at the startup, publisher, status and the impact of the program. Select the one which you don’t want at the startup and click on the “Disable” button below at the right corner.

Now you will be asked to restart the computer. This is how you can boot windows 8 faster.
