If you are using Linksys router then chances are that you may forget your WiFi password and you want to change the password. For changing the WiFi password, you need to log into the Router’s settings. But if you forget your router’s password then you need to change the Linksys router to Factory settings. In this way yo can log into the Linksys router by entering the default user name and password.
On the backside of Linksys router, you will see a small button as shown in the picture above.
Press and hold the reset button for about ten seconds.
leave the button. Now the settings of Linksys router will be changed to Factory settings.
Below are the default username and password of Factory reset Linksys router.
- Linksys BEFW11S4, WRT54G: admin
- Linksys EtherFast Cable/DSL Ethernet routers: Administrator
- Linksys Comcast routers: comcast
- All other Linksys routers: [none]
- Linksys BEFW11S4: [none]
- Linksys Comcast routers: 1234
- All other Linksys routers: admin
Now you will enter into the Basic set of Linksys router.
Go to “Wireless” tab and then “Wireless Security“.
Now in Paraphrase text box type the password which you want to use.
Also you want to change the Network name from default to whatever you wish.
Click on “Wireless” tab and then “Basic Wireless Settings“.
Now in “Network Name (SSID)” box, type the name of your wireless network.
At last save all the settings.
